Spotted in the Breckenridge parking lot last weekend. Early C3 vette, 68? 69 maybe? Either way this guy is an absolute badass for driving his car across the country in the middle of December to make some turns in Colorado.

I wasn't sure either, but from pics it looks like the '69 has painted side strakes and the '68 doesn't - so this is a '68 unless it's been repainted, probably.

Cool! Either way this is THE c3 to have, I'll take mine in black with the top off - A la Chris Tucker's car in Rush Hour.

You can tell by the door handles. 68's have a little thumb button that sticks out and the 69's don't. This one has 1969 doors.

Amazing what shows up through winter around here, isn't it? Standing at the Discount Tire counter settling up for a new set of wheels and winter tires for the Jetta, we see a guy cruise past in a Viper. There's sand and junk on all the streets, and it smelled like an upslope was on the way, but he was just out keeping the tires and gears turned, I guess. How were the conditions at Breck? Hoping high country snowpack is good this winter.

So, probably a '69 repaint, then. I'm strictly amateur on those minutiae, but like any fool I can tell the difference between a '73 and anything else...

also 68s don't have Stingray badges. They were just a corvette in 68. This one has a big block good on it.
You can also tell a 68/69 by the dash. 68s didn't have the map pockets on the passenger side.

Snow's not bad, got a couple inches on Sunday. I'm headed up tonight after work but I don't think they will get any new snow until next week. It's nice to get outta the rat race for a while though - I split rent for a house in frisco during the winter :)

Reminds me of this guy:
And it's not just C3 on big tires, it's waaaaaaaaaaaay crazier than that.
The Cliffs Notes are - a '69 wearing an '81 body, with a FWD unit (along with the suspension and steering box) from a 70's Cadillac Eldorado, plus a Jeep transfer case and a Turbo 400, all being powered by a 392 Hemi out of a '58 Chrysler New Yorker. It had over 190k miles on it when the story was written and there's a winch hidden behind the front license plate.
It's bonkers.

I'd like to think this guy is he's off having an adventure with his long....LONG time mistress. Good for him.

Being fiberglass, this is one of the few old cars I think I'd be OK with driving in the winter. I seriously can't believe we haven't found a good substitute for salt in this day and age.
